| The Easton Garden Club at the 2004 New England Spring Flower Show The New England Spring Flower Show provides many opportunities for the Easton Garden Club to show off their talent and design skills. A red ribbon was awarded for the interpretation of "A Child's Perspective," a vignette depicting a section of a child's room. "Andy's Tree Fort," a 1960s' era tree house, was the design theme. A shipping crate of mahogany from Malaysia was broken down and used for the floor. A Teddy bear named "Arlene," a stately white pine, and an antique fire truck were carefully placed around Andy's fort. The fire truck contained a subtle arrangement of goldenrod, sunflowers, wild grasses, curly willow and leucothoe. There were artifacts of binoculars, a Boy Scout shirt, a rummy board, a green army blanket and comic books. His bed was covered with a yellow quilt, and the floor was adorned with a handmade rag rug from the early 20th century. The design was playful and spoke of its time. Sandra Medeiros was Chairperson of this event.
