EGC Parade Float: Beginning at noon on Tuesday, June 13th, EGC members will be needed in full force at the home of Sandy Medeiros to help assemble the club’s float for Easton’s 275th birthday celebration parade to be held on Sunday, June 18th. Volunteers will be needed all through the week, including after the parade for breakdown and clean up. Call Sandy for times and details. Sandy is also looking for members who can donate ivy from their gardens. She needs ivy cut in three-foot lengths and wired to picks. Please call Sandy to arrange to pick up the picks from her, or she will bring them to the dinner meeting for you.

Anyone interested in purchasing plants from the float can meet Sandy at Stonehill College following the parade. The club will be selling begonias and petunias from the float.

Massachusetts Gardens on Tour: Just a reminder…members who signed up to hostess in one of the three Easton gardens or at Borderland during The Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts, "Massachusetts Gardens on Tour" will soon be receiving a phone call with an assignment. If you do not hear from a committee chairperson regarding hostessing, please contact Kay Ryan. We will need every available member due to the numerous hostess positions.

Dues: All dues for the 2000/2001 year are due in to Membership Chairperson Mary Beth Meyer. See Mary Beth with you check for $15 for active members and $35 for associate memberships

EGC Spring Plant Sale: As always, the plant sale held May13th at the NRT Sheep Pasture was a huge success for the club. There were a few hanging baskets left over. These will be available for sale at the June dinner meeting. *If you are "baby sitting" one or more of these plants, please don’t forget to bring them to the meeting.

Judging of Arrangements: Members interested in competing in the 2000/2001 program of artistic design may get a head start this summer by having their arrangement for the June dinner meeting, or for the "Gardens on Tour" at Borderland, judged and counted towards next year’s program. Speak to Nancy Ruggles if you wish to have your arrangement judged.

Window Boxes: Notice the window boxes as you drive down Main Street through Easton’s downtown area! About a dozen members turned out at the Sheep Pasture Memorial Day weekend to fill 60 window box liners with red, white and blue flowers. They were put up for Memorial Day and should be really flourishing by the time the parade marches through town on June 18th.

Dinner Meeting: If you would like to attend the June dinner meeting at Benjamin’s Restaurant in Taunton, and have not sent in your reservation, please contact Davie McNamara immediately. She must have the final count in by Friday, June 9th.
