"Living Wreath Workshop"

Our May meeting is going to be a workshop making a living wreath. This will be a wreath you can hang on your house made out of sempervivums (hens & chicks). These are hardy plants that will last for several years with minimum care. We will have 2 sizes available to make - 8" or 12". If you would like to make one of these wreaths, please call Nancy Cohenno and leave her a message letting her know what size wreath you would like to make. The cost of making the wreath will be under $20.00. For club members only.

Plant Sale: The annual Spring Plant Sale at the NRT Sheep Pasture will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2002 from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Volunteers are needed to help that day from 8:00am until 12:00pm. You don't need any gardening experience to help. We will also need help on Friday the 10th from about 3:00pm to 6:00pm to collect the plants our members drop off, make sure they are labeled, categorize them, and be sure they are priced. We will be selling annuals, hanging baskets, some purchased perennials, and our garden-dug perennials. We need every member to dig perennials out of their gardens for the sale. Anything such as ground covers, lilac shoots, vines, common and unusual perennials will be gladly accepted. You can dig your plants anytime now, as long as they are coming up. Please hold on to them until the day before the sale (Friday, May 10th), label them and bring them directly to the Sheep Pasture. Any members who have garden (or little red) wagons please bring them for use on the sale day, Saturday. Please be sure to put your name somewhere on it so we can return it to you.

Dues: Membership dues for 2002/2003 are due by May 30th. Please remit a check made payable to the Easton Garden Club to Membership Chairperson Mary Beth Meyer. The annual dues are: $15 for Active Members, $35 for Associate Members (only after five active years), and no payment is due for Senior Members (65 years or older who have been active members for at least ten years). If you do not plan to continue in the club, please notify Mary Beth in writing.

New Members: The Easton Garden Club welcomes new members Alma Ryan of North Easton, Patricia Reid and Rosemary Coronella of Stoughton.

Garden Walks: The "Garden Walks" program is almost here once again. For those of you new to Garden Walks, there are no calls necessary to tell anyone you are coming and no reminder phone calls just before. The first day of the summer months (June, July, August) Garden Walks start at 8:30 AM. We take about 30 minutes at each yard. The walks are finished by about 10:00 AM. The members' gardens are listed by name. Their addresses can be found in the program booklet. PUT THE LIST ON YOUR REFRIGERATOR SO YOU WON'T FORGET! This program is for EGC members only, please.
