5pm or someone will pick them up if necessary. Call Nancy Cohenno for details, questions
and if you are in need of pots. Please label things if possible. | The Easton Garden Club has thrown its hat in the ring for the 2000 New England Flower Show with a bay window display in the amateur horticulture section. The exposure we will be working with is EAST. This means low to moderate light requirements and cool temperatures. Plants for the display must be "horticulturally perfect." This means no leaf damage or discoloration, blooming if it is a plant known for its flowers, and generally speaking, a good looking specimen. If you think you have plants that may be appropriate or perhaps you are just interested in working on the project, please give Joyce Holster a call. |

| "Art in Bloom"
2000: There will be a lottery held at the May 26th board meeting to select
an arranger for the Museum of Fine Arts "Art in Bloom" for next year. Any
interested member should call Kay Ryan to enter your name. This is a fun and challenging
event! Gazebo Plantings: The plantings designed and donated by the Easton Garden Club at the new gazebos at Parker Terrace and Elise Circle have been completed. There will be a dedication ceremony for the gazebos on May 15th, 1999 at 12:00pm/Elise Circle and 2:00pm/Parker Terrace with refreshments served. The committee, headed up by Joyce Holster, did a lovely job and everyone should try to get over to see them. Open Board Positions: The following positions are available on the Executive Board as of September 1999: Ways and Means, Historian and Nominating. For more information on these committee jobs or if interested in any of the positions, call Nominating Chairperson Ginny LaBelle. Dues are Due: Dues are due for 1999/2000. They are $15 for active members and $35 for associate members. Please give your payment to our treasurer, Rosemary Sinesi, at the May meeting or send them to her as soon as possible. |
Workshop Ideas: Workshop
Chairperson Kim Bertram is looking for some new and fun ideas for workshops for the
1999/2000 year. Anyone with suggestions for a workshop they would like to have, or a
workshop they could teach please give Kim a call. We know there are quite a few members
with hidden talents out there! ECG Library: Our many thanks to new recruit Janet Simolari for taking on the position of EGC Librarian. Janet will be accepting donations and bringing our library of books and magazines to each meeting for members to "sign out." Name Badges: Please bring back and wear your name badges to the May meeting. We will be collecting them at the end of each meeting and storing them at the hall, so there will be no need to remember them each time. Drivers Needed: Ruth Bornstein is looking for members interested in going into the Boston Flower Market with her. She is able accompany members in to shop in the market if the members are willing to drive. Give Ruth a call for details. EGC Web Site: The Easton Garden Club has it's own web site - www.eastongardenclub.org. It has sections on Daffodils in Bloom, NRT Harvest Fair activities, Horticulture, Newsletters, Television Schedule as well as Membership Information. |
