***Directions to the mansion: Please use the Massapoag Ave. "Service Entrance" and follow the balloons tied to the famous "Langwater Lanterns."  Follow the road past the mansion and park on the grass past the circular driveway.

George Grillo will discuss the fundamental requirements needed for successful home orchid growing.  He will bring various orchids in flower to show the easiest and most popular orchids to grow in the home.  Members are invited to bring orchid plants for discussion, problems or questions.

275th Gala Arrangements: Members who have signed-up to arrange flowers for the centerpieces for Easton's 275th Gala will meet Saturday morning, October 7, 2000 at 8 am at the Ames Sports Complex at Stonehill College.  If you didn't get a chance to sign-up, but would like to help with the arrangements, please join us!

Greens Sale:  This year the EGC will hold a Greens Sale during Easton's Holiday Festival.  We will be having a series of workshops in November to create swags, arrangements and other holiday greenery.  We are seeking donations of old Christmas containers, sleighs, skates, skis, hurricanes etc. for decorating for the sale.  If you have any of these that you would like to donate, or if you happen to pick any of these items up at a yard sale, please give Ways and Means Chairperson, Kim Bertram, a call.  We will have sign-up sheets for the workshops at the October and November meetings.

Massachusetts Horticultural Society Special Events:

Elm Bank Jack-O'-Lantern Festival
Sunday, October 29, 4:30-6:30pm (Elm Bank)

Everyone is invited to join MHS for a fun holiday event to celebrate an American tradition, the jack-o'-lantern. Bring your creations to Elm Bank to be illuminated and displayed for all to see and enjoy. Votive candles will be supplied.

2-4 pm Registration
4:30 Lighting, judging and viewing
5:15 Awards
5:30 Refreshments

Registration fee: $1 per jack-o'-lantern. Public invited free.

Rustic Trellis Workshop
