Fundraising
The EGC Spring Plant Sale is held annually at the Yardley-Wood Rink on Depot Street in South Easton. A wide variety of garden-dug perennial plants from members’ gardens are available. There are floral arrangements and annual planters for charming Mothers’ Day gifts - as well as many raffle items available to take a chance on. This year our Spring Plant Sale will be on Saturday, May 8th.
Our Holiday Greens and Wreath Sale is held annually on the first Saturday in December at the Easton Historical Society and Museum. All holiday arrangements, wreaths, and garlands are made by the members from fresh plant materials. Shoppers can find all of their holiday décor and have fun taking a chance in a wonderful raffle with very special prizes. This year our Holiday Greens and Wreath Sale will be Saturday, December 5th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. This will be the only winter fundraiser for the garden club, so we hope you'll come and support us!
Beautification
With the funds that we are able to raise with the support of the community our “Village Improvement” Committee is busy year-round making and keeping Easton beautiful with landscape projects and town-wide activities. These are some of the things that we do:
Create and maintain seasonal plantings along Main Street
Maintain the islands at the Town Hall
Maintain plantings at Keach Field, Doris Howard Memorial at Wheaton Farm, and others
Participate in Earth Day by planting trees in public spaces
Participate in “Keep Easton Beautiful” clean-up day
Participate in the “Day of KindNess” with volunteers from Oliver Ames High School
Hold hands-on workshops at a local assisted living facility assisting Easton residents in making floral arrangements for the holidays
Garden therapy outreach with monthly workshops for the clients at Easton’s House of Possibilities (HOPe)
Host the Semi-Annual “Books in Bloom” at the Ames Free Library
Create a design for Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts’ annual “Art in Bloom” weekend
Host periodic juried flower shows open to the public
