The Tricentennial Garden

A Garden Honoring

Easton’s 300th Anniversary

September 2026

The Tricentennial Garden is now moving into the final stages of its development.

During the summer months, pillars were built at both entrances to the garden, and the irrigation system was installed. During the next six (6) weeks, permanent shrubs and perennials will be planted, along with additional spring bulbs.

Throughout this year, the hedges bordering the garden have been maintained and additional privet planted where there were gaps. Our original spring bulb plantings, (daffodils and grape hyacinth) provided a wonderful display of color within the patio area. This area will be enhanced with grasses and ferns in the future.

The original memorial benches have been renovated and are now back in the garden. We hope to add additional benches next year.

One further garden embellishment is under discussion: A wrought iron archway spanning the pillars at the entrance on Mechanics Street.

Fundraising for the garden will continue into 2027 as we would like to set up an endowment to ensure it is maintained well into the future.
